How To Setup Blog on Blogger aka Blogspot

Blogger is the fastest growing blogging platform at present and many professional blogger using this however some web masters says that blogger is not good in SEO but I opposes them because if you start blogging with some correct Technics your blog can obtain better page rank on SERP. There are many blogs obtained 5+ page rank by Google. So I don't think blogger is not good. There are many bloggers on web who are guiding new bloggers to creating a better blog but most of them are not providing useful information while they are misguiding peoples. I will teach you Technics for getting higher page rank on search engines on my coming post.

In this post I will teach you how to start with blogger. It is a free and remotely hosted blogging platform. Although this is very simple but new bloggers can use this tutorial as reference while starting with blogger. Just follow these steps to create your blog.

1. Go to Blogger: Visit Blogger.com. You will see a window as shown in screen shot below. Clicks create a blog Button to start.
2. Creating A Google Account: For creating a blogger (blogspot) blog you need a Google account. If you already have one then you can go directly to next step. But if you don't have one then make one it's free and required very less time. You will see the screen as below. Just put your information and click continue button.
3. Naming Your blog: In this step you have to acquire a blog title and Domain name for your blog. Just choose one whatever you like. Fill all information and click on continue button to precede to next step. Your Domain name will look like as     

http://yourblogname.blogspot.com

4. Choosing a template For your blog: In this step you have to choose a Theme or template for your blog, although you can change it later but choose any this time. Choose according to your choice and click continue button. This will take to you a new window as shown in Step 5.
5. Creating a Post: Now you have setup your blog and you can start making Post for your blog. You can use Text, image and videos in your posts.

Setting Up Your Top Level Domain With Blogger

Blogger gives you the option of purchasing a domain name from right inside Blogger for about $10/year, do not buy your domain name from Blogger. Even though you may have a professional top level domain it’s still hosted by Blogger and that means if your blog gets deleted for whatever reason you will also loose that domain name. Instead use a service like Godaddy to register your domain which gives you full control over your domain name. Once you’ve registered your domain name with Godaddy, setting it up with Blogger is quite easy.

Google tells you exactly how to set up your Blogger blog with GoDaddy.

1. Log in to your account at www.godaddy.com.
2. Open the Domains tab and select My Domain Names. You’ll be directed to the Domain Manager page.
3. Click the domain that you’d like to use with your blog.
4. Click the Total DNS Control And MX Records link at the bottom of the section entitledTotal DNS.
5. Click Add New CNAME Record in the box labelled CNAMES (aliases). If you’ve already created a CNAME record for your blog’s address, click the pencil icon next to the existing CNAME record.
6. For the Name, enter only the subdomain of the address you want to use for your blog. For example, if you picked www.mydomain.com as your address, enter www here.
7. Enter ghs.google.com as the Host Name. Specify a TTL or use the default setting of 1 hour.
8. Click OK, and then click OK again.

If you don’t use Godaddy they are other domain name services out there that can do the same but since Godaddy is the most popular, easiest and just happens to be the service I use for all my domain name management.

Once you’ve finished the above steps you’ve completed the most important part of setting up your Blogger blog, below are a few other steps you should take when setting up a Blogger blog.
