Google announced today that its new Google Now personal assistant feature is available on the latest version of its mobile operating system.
Greg Sterling explained the mobile search experience:
An improved Google search UI (incorporating the Knowledge Graph for more structured results)
A Siri-like female voice to read you search results (in some circumstances)
Google Now (a capability that takes your calendar, location and other data inputs and gives you information with no formal query prompting)
Google Now displays "cards" of information when you need them. For example, when is your next calendar appointment, what are directions that avoid traffic to that appointment, what is the menu of the restaurant you are sitting in, the list goes on.
